As soon as I was old enough to learn how to tie a fishing knot, I learned to tie the improved clinch knot. It is the one my dad taught me how to tie and I have been tying it ever since. It has served me well over many years of fishing. It is a workhorse of a knot and tied by many fisherman. However, it is not the only good fishing knot out there.
