When you think about fishing, we all can complain about something right? In a world with lists, how about five things to hate about Shearon Harris??

1. Pleasure boaters

These are the people on jet skis who buzz irritatingly close to you while you’re in the back of a cove trying to stay away from the noise, the waves, and just fish in peace! Sometimes unaffectionately labeled, some pleasure boaters could use a lesson in courtesy.

2. The grass is gone!

I hear people complain about the grass being gone and how bad it has affected fishing. I’m not really sure about the difference in the fishing but I can tell you that I’ve heard many people complain about it after getting a zero in a tournament.

3. Slot Limit

People always complain about the slot limit. The fact that a fish has to be a certain size to keep it is a good thing! This is why the lake is producing such huge fish. (See some of our pictures and videos from Shearon Harris) I don’t mind conservation that is making a fishery better in the long run. On tournament day, having to release a three pounder is tough though…..

4. Buzzards

Have you ever come back to your vehicle only to find it covered in buzzards and…..well you know. Earlier this year I went out to fish and came back to the ramp to get the truck and saw six buzzards sitting on a truck. The truck was a dark color but after a few hours, I’m pretty sure the truck was completely white. I would have loved to see that guys face when he came off the lake…. Now they have buzzards hanging from the parking lot lights as a deterrent. Seems to be working.
What do I hate most about Shearon Harris?

5. When I have to leave

The peace that I find when I’m there is unmatched. I can look around and see how beautiful and how complex that God’s creation really is. To watch eagles fly and call out is truly amazing. Seeing them fish is a sight to behold. Sometimes what we really need to do is quit worrying about things not being how we want them to be and be happy to just be there taking in God’s handy work.
